Changi Airport in Singapore has a great reputation with travelers. It’s a wonderful place to spend time before or after a flight and it’s been voted, “World’s Best Airport” for the 5th year in a row! The top result was announced at the World Airport Awards (2017). Changi came in ahead of Haneda in Tokyo and Incheon International Airport in South Korea. Since 2000, Changi has won the title a whopping eight times, although the airport has won only five consecutive titles!

In addition to earning this new title, Changi Airport also won the title, “Best Airport in Asia” (for leisure amenities). One title it didn’t win is “World’s Cleanest Airport”. This title was awarded to Haneda Airport in Toyko. At present, Singapore ranks sixth in the “cleanest airport” rankings. It’s actually dropped a couple of spots since the 2016 rankings were announced. Changi Earns "World's Best Airport" Title for the Fifth Year in a Row

In terms of “best airport service”, Changi ranked in 4th position. It was beaten out by Taoyuan International Airport, Haneda and Incheon.

The World Airport Awards for 2017 were tallied based on over thirteen million nominations from customers from one hundred and five countries. Five hundred and fifty airports are classified in the rankings. A big survey is how the awards platform comes up with winners and rankings. Customers who are air travelers provide plenty of information about their experiences in airports, including how they feel about transfers, arrivals, check-ins, security, immigration and shopping, along with departure.
