Pretty Happy at Work: Healthy Ways to Love What You Do

Since we spend the overwhelming majority of our waking hours at work, and likely will for the next 10, 20, or even 30 or more years it is absolutely essential that we do absolutely everything in our power to make sure that our time spent at work is as happy as can be.

Most folks cite work-related stress, pressure, and frustration for the overwhelming majority of the issues that they deal with on a day to day basis – including problems that they deal with in their personal relationships. By getting your work life situated in fostering happiness there, you’ll have happiness throughout every area of your life!

Reprogram your brain

The first thing you’re going to have to do to embrace happiness at work is understand that the way you think about work, the way you think about your coworkers, and the way that you think about your life in general is going to have a tremendous impact on how you feel and whether or not you are actually happy.

By giving up personalizing issues that may have nothing to do with you or others, abandoning trying to read other people’s minds instead of focusing on healthy communication, and hitting the brakes on turning every bad situation into a complete catastrophe will transform the way you feel almost immediately.

Feed your body

There’s a reason why so many people “eat their feelings”, and you’re going to want to do the same kind of thing but with a much healthier and more supportive twist.

The food that we put into our body dramatically impacts the way we feel, the way we act, and even the way we think. By feeding your body good food, healthy food, and enjoying plenty of water every single day you will never have to worry about your emotions, your stress, or your pressure overcoming you at the office or anywhere else, either.

Move your body

The fastest way to control your emotions is to control the motion of your body – basically getting up off of your backside and fighting back against the overwhelmingly sedentary lifestyle that so many of us lead today, exercising on a routine basis and recharging your batteries along the way.

Get just 30 minutes of exercise every single day – ideally in the morning – and you’ll feel like a brand-new person after the fourth or fifth day. Not only will you feel better, you’ll also be able to better fight back against stress and pressure that may be building up in the office.

All of this energy is going to translate into good feelings, especially if you conduct the overwhelming majority of your exercise outside. Breathe in clear air, taken everything that Mother Nature has to offer, and really try to be mindful your surroundings, this moment in time, and how you aren’t the only person to have to go through these issues – and certainly won’t be the last – and all of a sudden you find your happiness spike across the board.

It really doesn’t get much better than this!
